I just made the switch from an AT&T iPhone to a Sprint HTC Hero.

I couldn't be happier. There are of course some habits that I was used to that I have to break now that some UI actions are different, but the phone itself lives up to the hype.

I blame my dissatisfaction with my previous set up like 65% AT&T and 35% Apple. The phone was constantly dropping calls. That was first and foremost and considering you spend $40+ more to have that phone a month, it's beat. Then the issues of not being able to run simultaneous apps, and most importantly the lack of flash bugged me to no end. Plenty of other gripes, but that is the bulk of it.

The Hero so far is very smooth in transitions. Every app I loved on the iPhone (that were functional, not just "awe, look it's pretty") I have found or found a similar product on the Android Market. I have access to live TV, satellite radio, navigation, and a lot of augmented reality apps. Layer is sweet for that.

And I'm only paying $69.99 a month. That also includes unlimited mobile to mobile calling, texts, data, and email.

HTC Hero and the other Sprint Android phone will be updating straight to 2.1 come end of January, thus exceeding the Droid OS.
