Maybe it's because all new cars pretty much look like overdesigned eggs. Maybe it's because you don't need all the handling and power in the world if you're only driving in the city. Maybe it's because for all their faults, those old boxes still had some soul in them.
Don't get me wrong, i drive a egg-shaped car, too, but an old boat will turn my head sooner than any ferrari or audi.
