Maybe it's just me but it seems like something has been lost since the 90s. It felt like we were on the verge of something great with the fall of communism, rise of internet, etc...
Then it all came crashing down with the turn of the decade, Bush stealing the election, terrorism, global warming, shit economy etc. I don't know anyone who's too optimistic about the future anymore
