The second law of thermodynamics only applies to isolated systems, meaning systems that don't partake in any exchange of mass or energy with their surroundings.
No biological entity is an isolated system, as matter and energy exchange with surrounding environment occures constantly, thus stiffling or otherwise affecting the entropy that the second law defines.
This is one of the most common misinterpretations of the 2nd law by creationists, but understanding the difference between open and isolated systems is mandatory for any understanding of energy exchange.
