    Calm down, it's all BS:

in any case, look at the species of humans from an outside perspective - how does religion fit into the situation?

    one word:

    Control.

    another word:

    Sex.

The reason christianity was so welcomed back in the day was because it gave the average guy a chance to have a wife - no sex before marriage, no cheating, meant the average joe might get a chance with a girl, otherwise the strongest most controlling chap will take all the girls in the village.

and it gave those running the show - control, free money and people to fight their wars for them.

So burqas = nothing more than control.

What I don't like about them is this:

Remove everything from the situation except this: two humans walking down a street towards each other. One dressed in western clothes revealing their face and body shape. The other covered in a black cloth revealing only their eyes, disguising their shape. In this situation, one person has an advantage, one person can read and tell a lot about the other person, going back to animal instincts - one person can judge if the other is a friend of foe. There's such a loss of information when covered in a black cloth showing only your eyes. And in the observer it creates unease.

...and why don't the men wear them!

That's personally what I don't like about them. Much the same reason why hooded tops are frown upon in England. Perhaps if Chavs created a religion and choose hooded tops as their fashion item they might get to wear them at school all day. Why is ok to ban a fashion item of clothing in England but not a religious item of clothing?

    Sheer BS.
