Quite frankly, I don't get the hype. I find this site a cluttery mess that lives 450 pixels down my browser.
The navigation is all over the place. My eye goes left, right, up, down. Design 101, you're eye should want to flow. My eye gets stuck on this 530 x 250 white block in the left corner. There is no coherent flow to any of it.
It's on image overload. The textures are lousy and unpolished tiling on some. And what point do the textures even serve? Its like, we're gonna use textures from flickr just for the sake of using textures.
I do like some of the nick-nacks though.
