    These days I'd suggest you either use png-8 alpha transparency (which degrades nicely and still provides IE6 with trans) .. or if that isn't possible maybe just serve up alternative gif images for IE6.

    Most (if not all) of the pngfix techniques have issues that take time to sort out. Transparency is rarely a deal breaker .. maybe give IE6 users a perfectly decent but non-transparent layout.

    • ? IE6 can still render transparency on png8 when its a background? I thought it greyed out?detritus

    • png 8 is just like a gif. alpha is either on or off and thus is jagged like a gif7point34
