    Oppression might be too strong a word, airey. Occupation is a better one. You have to have some sort of government, so you choose one. Then it has power over you. It can set laws over you, conscript you, tax you... It becomes an occupant of sorts, technically speaking.
    Not that I'm complaining... Just trying to capture power system as a simple abstract model.

    We are quite lucky in the modern west these days, but it is not a given, we have to keep an eye on our governments, because power has a tendency to corrupt those in power – how obvious is that?
