You can continue with your little fantasy that "individuals" matter in nature. It seems to serve conservatives in all countries very well. It's a nice fantasy.
When you get down to it, humans survive as a social species, not lone viking hunters. Therefore we will always seek out social hierarchies as survival strategies.
