Good man for taking the high road. I agree with others, you own the work regardless of what the agency says. They could make a barely tenable case if you did the work on-site with their equipment, but it sounds like you worked from home on your own gear, yeah?
If you like the work, show it. If they send a cease and desist, I'd simply ignore it. If they have a sliver of intelligence, they'll know it's nothing but hot air.
