Most music I listen to tends to fall between the 50's and 70's somewhere, but one of the oldest that I do listen to regularly is Freddie Keppard, recordings from the early to mid '20s. He was one of what are called the '5 trumpet kings' of jazz (the others being Buddy Bolden, Armstrong, Gillespie, and Miles).

Another gem is old, but recently recorded. Clarinetist Don Byron cut a record in the 90s called "Bug Music." He revived a lot of unknown music by Duke Ellington from his pre-hit days, as well as music by a couple others with whom I'm not that familiar. But it's great stuff that would have been part of radio shows and stuff like that.
