    So, I want to take photos and make videos, neither of which is my profession nor do I intend them to be. My budget would stretch to a 7D and not a 5D II. This isn't classed as a pro-grade but rather enthusiast/semi-pro, and there's a difference or the market wouldn't be split as such.

    I like your provocative approach but, come on, the 7D is not a toy.
    This camera is pretty much universally acclaimed so far.

    Does the DPreview miss the point then?
