The Russians and Yanks have been dicking around with silver iodide in the atmosphere for nearly a century now - I thought this was part of mid-west american folklore? It's only because we now find ourselves in such over-petrified societies that we don't hear about this being used in our neck of the woods (well, I'm in Britain, so we've fuck all need for more rain nucleation... it's pissing down as I write).
Just wait 'til 2030 when the SinoAmerican hegemony fucks off the idea of carbon sequestration and pumps the atmosphere full of sulphur dioxide to buy another decade or so of full aumotation, before the transition to the subsurface pyramidal hive social structures prefered by our future crobioticyberdyne nanon-derived overlords, wherein they'll eviscerate and juice all mankind for blood iron, which they'll pump into the seas, reinstating gaia as queen mind.
