Alongside QBN and YH, it is a good material for a quick custom forum UI case study.
Just reading the posts on Qonversation is difficult, avatars and user names get in the way. Then those colored links at the bottom of each post don't help either. Reply button only shows on roll-over, needs to be discovered.
YH blows with its full-page-width post approach.
QBN wins in this category hands down, the post text is just as wide as it needs to be and reading flow is uninterrupted – user names stay close but out of the way in their left hand side column and utility links (permalink, dog-ear) appear only on rollover.
But that's just one category, both Qonversation and YH have both participated and favourite conversation tracking, and this is one basic feature that is a killer one.
