Heavier is better, I like the idea of the identity being dynamic (ie: the shape/face changing in the O constantly). It will give you a lot of room to 'play'.
Have you tried rounding out the corners to soften up the wordmark a bit? It may give it that playful demeanor the word 'toyshop' is asking for.
