Your gut knows the truth.
I was freelance for 2 years then took a part time job at a company as their in-house designer. I figured I could do my client stuff after lunch, since i was only working there 4 hours every morning.
It just didn't work out. It felt wrong from the first week of doing it. I lasted a month and had to tell them it wasn't working for me... Shitty but your gut knows.
