Basic question, how long do you want your data to be accessible for? How do you know any of these people will be around next year?, in five years time?, in twenty? What will you do if they evaporate?
Find a good local solution, make multiple copies and keep in multiple places. OK for one of those to be on the net but not for the only one to be on the net. Oh and by the way, tape is still the backup medium of choice for those who are serious.
