The purpose of the law is not only punishment, it is prevention. Letting him go easily is a green light for all the pervs out there. That's why they keep chasing him.
I think the Swiss court will let him go, there are 2 or 3 instances he'll be going through. These sort of crimes wipe out in Switzerland in 15 years, 30 if it's a life sentence.
On a side note, 18 as age of consent is unnatural, it is lower in so many countries and for centuries 20 year old men married 15 year olds..
On another side note, he fled to France, which wouldn't extradite their own citizen. It has changed now, countries betray their own more and more - a sign of decaying times I'd say.
