i believe that Samantha had forgiven him a long time ago. this seems to be about sheer politics between Switzerland and the US. Bit sad, seeing it was so long ago.
on the other hand i hope he gets a a fair trial and not too long punishment so he can go anywhere afterwards again and perhaps start making films in Hollywood again. :)I also vaguely remember he was kind of messed up in his mind after his wife was murdered by that Charles Manson gang..
Whatever, i may be leaning toward his defense as i am quite a huge fan of his films.
