  Sens. Chuck Schumer and Jay Rockefeller held a press call this afternoon in which both stated their confidence that, in Schumer's words, the "healthcare bill signed into law wil have a good, strong, public option."

  I kind of gave up on the idea that Obama wanted a government insurance plan a while back...seems like every day they come out and all but say we really don't want it (which they can't actually say because it would piss off their base). But these kind of statements from guys as powerful as Rockefeller and Schumer kind of muddy the waters.
