my girlfriend is a grad student at hopkins and had her house robbed a month ago. they took her macbook with all her dissertation research and her tv. broke in through a second floor window. she has an alarm and a dog. dog was locked in her bedroom with the ac on and she happened to be at her job on monday. the guy(s) left a giant knife on her sofa, probably for use on the dog, had she gotten out, or on my girlfriend, had she been home, the cops said. she now sleeps with that knife under her mattress.
this is an extremely dangerous city. if it was legal, i would walk around with a concealed weapon.
