is this something you personally want to do for esthetic reasons or has this come from the client? If it's your own desire, I'd seriously rethink it, if not, personally, I'd get a few quotes from anyone willing to do this, and just lay it on the table, either they can pay for it, or they can't, if they can't, then they don't....
I'm sure it's not that black and white, but from what you've said, this is what I would try..
