if you like osx so much, and you're on pc, why not just give freebsd a try? it's really not that far off, kernel wise anyway...
and gnome and kde can be configured to provide gui users a very very very pleasant display.

http://www.gnome.org/start/2.4/s…linux/unix isn't a 'geek' os anymore...there are plenty of advancements in the gui field of alternate os's.
hey chris, what do you use? have you checked out archlinux at all....it's probably my fav distro...very customizable.
