I hate the "just do what the client wants" bit. If you want to be better-than-good at what you do, you should go the extra mile to actually be an adviser to them on how they should think through what they want. Have you looked at what other blind cleaners do? Are there any other businesses he aspires to be in the same league as? Does he realize that a tornado symbolizes destruction?
Anyone can find some pushover who can "do graphics" but in the end if you care about the outcome of your work for a client, I think it's worth it to help them see the pros and cons of a design direction. He's the expert at his business, but you're (well, you should be) the expert at how to communicate his business.
I realize this is all "in a perfect world" stuff, but just something to think about.
