    you are confusing service with creativity.

    how is you bringing in your own work any different to the thousands of designs in the flash books on the walls. a very large percent of the people walking thru a tattoo artists door will want off the wall work.

    at least with your own designs, its a bit of variety.

    you are paying them for a service. see them more like a print shop. you take your work in, they will tell you if the colors are out, etc.. but in the end, they give you what you ask for.

    now, if you are very confident in the artists abilities, then sure, get them to design and ink it.

    tattoos and logo creation are somewhat different.. while similar in many respects.

    client comes in and wants a logo, its your job to know what is good and what will look best.

    tattoo client comes in and if they want something specific, its your job to give them what they want.
