morilla, they're totally different cameras. think of the 7D as a properly updated 50D to compete directly with nikon's d300s. It's newer/faster AF will serve you much better if you do anything sports/bird related where you need fast AF and fps. the 5D, while much slower, will give you a better raw image due to its full frame sensor. like landscape photography? get the 5D. do you want something mainly for video with the ability to take nice still? maybe the 7D as right now it has more video capabilities. canon could change it with a firmware update for the 5D.
