i guess my argument was based around how serious of a photographer you are. investing in APS-C sensors (the last of which for the 50d was pretty bad) means you're going to have to adapt and get lenses that suit that need. and then if you're ever thinking of going full frame, you need to figure on how much you want to spend now vs. later.
if all you're going to be doing is snapshots and fucking around with HD video, i guess the 7d sort of makes sense. there's always the rebel that shoots in HD.
