  The last time this happened I started using a desktop email client with gmail... that way I have a copy of my mail actually on my computer. If you're worried I'd suggest you do the same.

  • nah... just a old fashioned email client which reads gmail mail via smtp

  • even through outages like this, you can usually collect your mail that way
