You've been offered pretty good advice so far. Regardless of neighborhood, a few qualities I have learned to value in a San Diego domicile are:
- lots of windows to make use of the ample natural light.
- good airflow to enjoy the ocean/bay breeze. sounds corny, but it's worth opening a few east/west windows and taking note.
- an outdoor space. patio, deck, lawn, balcony, whatever.And for what it's worth, if i worked downtown I would probably move back to Little Italy or try the North/South Park area.
