Open question: Do you think the republicans have overplayed their opposition to healthcare reform - in terms of style and execution (i.e. lead off with the crazed, gun toting, not connected to reality folks) - in such a way that only invites a hard pushback from supporters? I think we're starting to see this now. The fact that Obama IS popular, with a dem majority in both houses, might have this particular mode used by the republicans backfire on them? What if they made a more rationalized measured opposition?
In looking at the more independent polling, these town hall protests haven't done much if anything to swing anyone in the independent middle their way.
