I just had one of those Seagates, (above with the pretty pulsing dots), die on me five months after purchase... 500GB - gone. Be sure to back any of them up with another similar drive, and buy it for the warranty. This one, has a 5 year warranty - won't bring back your data obviously, but at least they will replace the drive. Most of the others have a 1 year warranty.
- the WD ones also have a 5 year warranty if I remember correctly.ninjasavant
