I think the reason for the debate is that the 'cleverness' of his work is neither commercially viable nor critically or intellectually engaging. I love that he can follow through with a concept and communicate the clarity of the core idea. However, him being a student, his ideas could use more development, research and critical evaluation before jumping into execution.

    • just my 2cents ;)junetic
    • try that with less creative office speakPupsipu
    • better ideas & more research. validation and processjunetic
    • try convincing a client that a chair made of letters will sell. You'd need a whole lot of research, process and evaluation to back it up.junetic
    • validation. What's the story? So what, a chair made of letters? What work has preceded this? How did this idea come about?junetic
    • who cares?Pupsipu
    • the chair won't go on sale with a little idea and art history book with it, it will sell or not sell despite any creative thinkingPupsipu
    • just need to do a few test cases with customers and not overthink it, won't win a neuroscience prize anywayPupsipu
