Things such as one's social life definitely change as you get older, but it's not so much a function of getting older per se as it is maturity, marriage, having kids, etc. As we get older, the things we find meaningful often change and develop.
One thing I enjoy about being thirty is that I'm much more comfortable in my own skin than I was ten years ago. For example, my wife was out of town on a girl's wkend with her old college roommates. On a Friday night, I went to see a nerdy movie (Harry Potter) by myself, and had a blast. I just didn't give a shit about being out by myself on a weekend. Ten years ago, I would've felt like a total loser.
...Or maybe I am a total loser and have become comfortable with that fact... either way, I'm happier. :)
- e.g. when I see a 40-y.o. guy who still charges hard and gets hammered three + days a week, that's a matter of maturity.gramme
