You shouldn't be afraid of new technology. You should just be able to embrace new applications when the technology matures and it can actually assist you in some meaningful way. Lots of people will have trouble finding use for the first products, but some may learn about their own inner workings and actually learn more. The biggest problem is that lots of "designers" can't really justify what they do or can't really explain their process and will thus feel threatened. We have a talent overflooded market anyways and conceptual thinkers will always be appreciated.
