Like Mimio said on the previous page, public vs private education is a good parallel to what could be gained from having a "public option" in health care. Surely education is as impactful, probably moreso, on people's lives, as health care is. And right now we let the government handle education for those who can't afford it, but people also have the option of sending their kids to a private school.
Do I'd like to know...is public education bad too? Should be cancel public education and let the millions of kids who can't afford private school fend for themselves? Would society really be better off in that situation?
