    qburt is absolutely right.

    Your computer and your browser work in pixels, not dot per inch.

    set your screen res now. guess what? no dpi settings, only pixel dimensions. Set a table's width in a web page. Guess what? no dpi notations, only pixel dimensions (or percentages)

    dpi does matter when printing. crucial even.

    dpi does matter when scanning. higher dpi = more detailed scan.

    this thread is exasperating. I hope it dies soon.
