Sometimes I love how online communities work.
A couple of days ago someone I know from another forum reported something got stolen. After some investigation we (people that frequent that forum) discovered the thief was selling it on a local version of ebay. We made several bids to make sure one of us got the stolen item and arranged to meet and close the sale. Instead the guy got arrested for theft/the intention to sell stolen goods/money laundring & the inability to provide a legal identitification.
He had to spent one evening in jail and got a court order. He hasn't told his parents yet and they will come back from their vacation on friday. We know this, because he posts everything on his Hyves page (Dutch version of facebook).. If you're dumb enough to do that, you deserve to get caught.
