8 years ago (I think) I signed up to support Sea Shepard. Because all the feedback I got of their actions was a half-year report I eventually gave up. If their actions would be as well documented then as they are now, I might still have been a 'member'.

Just a little background information; Paul Watson, the 'Captain' of the Sea Shepard was one of the founding members of Greenpeace. His "pro-active" mentality eventually got him expelled from Greenpeace. Greenpeace chose to go a more diplomatic route.

According to international law Japanese whaling is currently restricted to research hunts conducted by the Institute of Cetacean Research. Unfortunatly this all seems to be a facade for what actually happens on the boats. When the whales have been harpooned, they are dragged into the boat, cut up, frozen en boxed for shipment.

Furtherrmore, there have been occasions where Japanse whalers 'fished' the protected waters around Antartica. Unfortunatly Sea Sheperd seems to be the only organisation wich condems these actions and actually act on it.
