The Sea Shepherd people are total tools. They're just a PR machine backed by the rebellious behavior and logic of a teenager.
In one episode, they had a couple of crew members board a Japanese ship and then claim that they were being held hostage. In another, the captain guy alleged that he was shot by the whalers, but saved by the badge he was wearing.
Yeah, that was clever... the first time I watched a 40s western.
