I guess this what you get from an american magazine for web 'dev' guys... I suppose if you ask 'dev' guys to chose the most influential web designers that's what you get.
You can't have a list of influential web designers without at least mentioning the master Yugo Nakamura of http://tha.jp
He and his company tha is what I call inspiring and influential!
He makes those amateurs look like they built their portfolio sites by following a tutorial called "my very first html website".
