I personally went to a symposium in Boston with a bunch of other creative talent a year or so ago and I got to witness Josh's alogorithym creative. I didn't think anything about it was stale. You need an eye to capture a still just the same as a photographer has to have an eye to capture the right shot out of 10 similar versions of the same thing. And to be totally fair what Josh's doing was innovative then it should have been taken to the next level if the economy hadn't tanked I bet you would have started to see more interactive algorhythm creative on television advertisements and more. It's cool stuff. It looked on screen like it was alive even though it really was just a program.
Anyways I guess I can see the relation sharing between shepard and Josh Davis, but frankly I don't think their of the same sort at all. Josh's work is out there.... for all of us and I think we can all appreciate that fringe, even if he comes off as the over zealous american.. I say judge him by his work and its some pretty sweet stuff.
