  Don't worry. Maybe it's not some expensive component as the logic board, but just the power unit. Most computers do this when the AC unit is going away.

  What you're describing looks exactly like what happens to a PC when the AC unit is about to pass. It still works but, as some circuits do not have power enough, the whole machine just stands still.
