    I don't believe in spending thousands of dollars for an engagement ring or a wedding ring. In fact I didn't even spend a dime for it. I'm married and my wife never had an engagement ring (she might not have been too happy about that, but that's how it went 12 years ago).
    I believe that you don't need to prove your love to her by spending a shit load of money. Yes, it's a symbolic thing, but it has become such a commercialize thing that it has lost its real meaning.
    "Oh he bought me a ring, that means that he is really serious and he loves me!!". BULLSHIT!! With or without the ring he would love her the same way!

    I do believe however that the wedding ring is what officially represent the union between a couple. So to me it's more important. We have a very nice Tiffany silver band, that we both like and wear all the time.

      Generally speaking lots of girls expect that from their man, as a proof of their love to them.
