  Are you sure its not just dirty?
  Blow some air on the ball while its upside down as you roll the scrolling ball with your fingers to let the dirt out. Do this 3 times and you will realize that not only your mouse works just as new, but that you threw away 2 more because you thought they didn't work right.

  I would like to state that I love this mouse too, its accurate, comfortable, solid construction and looks great. but its not for everyone.
