Its not a Lada Niva. Its an International Scout 800 Safari, which was basically the Ford Bronco running gear and platform but re-fitted by the International Harvester Company to be a more capable farm machine for its agricultural customers.
The Ford Bronco was a decent 4wd for light domestic use, but the torque wasn't high enough for pulling heavy loads across farmland and the chassis needed to be made more rigid. Also the International had a much higher and firmer suspension set up.
