PonyBoy - quite a few, probably, in answer response to your number B question - the appearance of 'people' or 'personalities' such as Athur Kade is a barometer for our society - we are all inextricably tied to the forces that acted upon an innocent child and produced the cancer-like, emotionally blind husk of a man such as he, someone with an inconceivable lack of self-awareness or taste.
Kade is what happens if you raise a child on its own, in a mirrored box, whilst endlessly looping what it says back to it in the style of an MTV ident on one wall.
