ahh, by 'master their own environment', do you mean 'have worked out how to feel comfortable in their own environment'? i mean, they still get killed by sharks and probably giant squid. they can't farm food, remove pollution and have a real problem with certain types of algae. they have yet to build a decent futon or 3 act play and they are less than stellar at astrophysics (although they may just be lazy). please don't confuse animal friendly 'truthiness' as fact.
