a designer under me did a terrible job at an assignment i gave her the other day, so i sent her an email with the changes i wanted in it (i was utterly dumbfounded by the poor work she did so i might have put it bluntly.) she responded with attitude and said she wouldn't do them because she "disagreed completely" and that i could try and "improve" (her quotes) it if i wanted to. outrageous.
so i had to give her a talk about it (how this is a job, it's about pleasing the client and both i and the client expect a certain level of work, how if an art director gives you direction you do it, etc etc) today and despite her being completely in the wrong i'm the one that feels like a dick.
go figure.
i wish people could have enough quality to manage themselves.
