I was trying to be diplomatic by refering to the world rather than just America, I don't think the regular American should be underestimated at all. I don't want to prompt anyone into dismissing me completely by refering to particular movements that may or may not be aligned with their own beliefs. But they are out there and they are popular.
Besides which, the involvement of the majority of the populus is not required to create change, the amercian war of independance was won be a relative minority.
