They are great fun to shoot. As long as I'm around people who are equally as paranoid and careful as me when handling a firearm, I'm good. Last week I went backpacking and my wife made me take our gun. I am glad I did since I woke up in the morning and saw a huge black bear....the thing actually took off running as soon as it saw me, but I felt alot safer knowing I had some sort of protection. My thought was that even a warning shot in the air would freak out most bears or mountain lions. Didn't even need to do that though.
